9th Semester Studio, Final Project: "The Slant"

Building a community center at Oakwood Park, located in Venice, CA. This project was built with the goal to provide a plethora of activities that the surrounding community can enjoy. Some of those programs include: an in-ground amphitheater, a bike path that wraps onto the roof and connects to the surrounding streets, an outdoor basketball court, a communal garden, a children's park, a study lounge, an indoor gym, an indoor play space, and indoor pool. In order to tie the landscape and the building together, I created these "grass-mounds" that circulate the perimeter of my site, and wrap into the interior of my building, where my lobby/study lounge is located. As the mounds transition from exterior to interior, their respective size decreases.
